Chapter One  Greetings and Introduction

Section 1  Business Background Tips

First friends, then partners.

<!----><!----> <!---->Section 4  Notes

1 Nice to meet you!

Hello,

Hi,

Glad to meet you!

Pleased to meet you!

My pleasure to meet you.

My great honor to meet you.

How are you doing?

How are you?

How do you do?

How are you doing? How are you?

Very well, thank you. And what about you?

Fine.

Fantastic.

Terrific.

Awesome.

Superb.

Great.

Hello.

Hi.

How are you?

How are you doing?

Good day.

Howdy.

How is it going?

How is everything?

What’s up?

What’s going on?

How is business?

How is school?

How is the world around you?

How is life treating you?

How is your love life?

Is everything OK?

Long time no see!

Haven’t seen you for ages!

Hi, there!

Hey!

6 ya ,你,在现在的欧美口语里,是 You 的弱读,很流行,如将 how are you doing? 读为 how ya doing?

10 If it isn’t sb ,这不是某人吗?

11 What a small world!

12 Fancy meeting you here!

13 How do you do?

Sure of course.

15 Haven’t seen you for ages ,是一句比较夸张的句子,表示好久不见, ages 可以换成 days months years.

16 nine times out of ten=almost always ,

20 How is it going? 等同于 how is everything with you?
