Protests continued in Egypt, President Mubarak meeting with members of new cabinet today, and President Obama calls for change to come to Egypt soon after 12 days of unrest. I’m Marti Johnson, reporting from Washington.

Thousands of demonstrators are in Cairo’s Tahrir Square for a 12th day of protest again Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year rule. Early Saturday gunfire ranged out in the packed square, there are no reports of casualties, Egyptian state media report that Mr. Mubarak met Saturday with his economic team including several members of his new cabinet to discuss the crisis, which is costing the country an estimated $310 million per day, Arab League chief Amr Mussa joined the tense, thousands of demonstrators in the square on Friday, for what the called the day departure of Mr. Mubarak, a long-time Egyptian political figure has said they may consider running for president, Egyptian security officials, meantime, say a large explosion has damaged the pipeline that carries gas to Jordan, they are blaming foreign elements for this attack. A large fire raged near the site of explosion in north Sinai, few other details immediately available about the Saturday.

Last, U.S presidents Barak Obama and other leaders calling for quick change in Egypt where the protests against President Mubarak are now in their 12th day, and still Friday Obama urge Mr. Mubarak to immediately begin the process of handling over power. But U.S. state the calling for Mr. Mubarak to leave office immediately, Mr. Obama said the future of Egypt must be determined by its people.
