I am partly agree with you about the complicity of a development job in financial area.

You are right, the example that I mentioned is about a equity research. Actually our team is responsible for developing an app calculating the PnL of ALL portfolios of FO including most of derivative products that you have mentioned. I admit that I don't have enough financial knowledge to deal with all kinds of business issue. However,most of our teammates,junior or senior  ,as I know, also can't give a positive repose to 巴克莱 小摩 and 大摩.

The CFA? Even the guys who work in FO or MO don't have it. In our team no body is certified by CFA our other kind of Financial certifications.Maybe that's the reason why our bank have lost some billion dollars in 2008 lol.

I am not attempt to argue with about the right and wrong. I just tell myself.

I am not good at all so I failed several interview during past weeks. There is nothing is must have in this industry. But know more may increase the chance to survive, actually a lot of successful people don't need it.(one of my classmate now is a trading manager for equity trading, but he doesn't even hear about the term CDS).
If you want to find a job in China and go to try MS shanghai as you already have some experience. They can pay very high salary.
